★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing!
This property is wonderful and fit our family well. Spacious and clean with a beautiful view. We will return!!! ~Emily C. (June - July 2023)
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful stay!
This is our 5th visit to the Big Island and 5th time staying in the condos at Mauna Kea. The pictures for this unit do not do it justice! It was really beautiful inside, the owners having chosen all the extras in the building process from finishes to molding. Excellent beds with beautiful linens. The condo is fully equipped and ready for cooking. The only missing were some silicone spatulas. There’ even a Kitchen Aid stand mixer. Gorgeous views to watch the sunset. Again - the photos don’t do justice of the surrounding lush greenery. South Kohala is the current management team. Easy to work with. Very friendly. We used InstaCart for grocery delivery with no problems. We pay the resort fees and use pretty much every single amenity at both the Westin and the Mauna Kea. Food and service at both are excellent. Mai Tai’s slightly better this year at the Mauna Kea. :) Head up the road to Kawaihea to the Blue Dragon for live music and good food. Family environment and lots of locals. Also love the Seafood Bar and Grill. The best meal was at Cipriano’s kitchen but they are only open from 8-3. However, Peruvian and Italian couple make excellent food. You’ll need a reservation for lunch. ~Jessica K. (November 2022)
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Views, and more views
The views were spectacular, especially the sunsets. Nicely furnished and all the beds are super comfy. Very quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend this unit. ~Jim L. (July 2022)
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful stay
The condo was perfect for our family of 4 and my parents. Everyone had plenty of room and privacy. Access to the Mauna Kea and Westin were a big plus. The location was great. Just a short drive to both resorts. We would rent this unit again! ~Asha D. (June 2022)
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wai ula ula Get-Away
The property was well kept and in a beautiful location - close to amenities and sights. The view from the unit was stunning. ~Audrey G. (March 2022)
"Wanted to take a moment and thank you for a wonderful time! I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful home and look forward to coming back next year!!!" ~ Sharima B. (July 2021)
★ ★ ★ ★ Very healing and peaceful
Absolutely gorgeous grounds and view. All amenities you would need were there. We could have sat in the lanai for years and never tired of the view. Teenagers enjoyed their own bedrooms and bathroom. I wouldn’t invest in the high resort fees offered for the two items. Both beaches are public and good parking at one if you get there in the morning parking was fine. The waiulaula has their own pool and fitness center you don’t need the resort access to use. Really beautiful place. A bit of a drive to do things but this island is now my favorite and every view was new and beautiful. ~Leah L. (July 2021)
“This is a fine, quiet, secure, three-bedroom condo unit, very well located at the north end of Wai'ula'ula, with expansive, sweeping views of the Kohala coast looking north. Maui is clearly visible over the water. The condo itself is spacious, well-appointed and nicely furnished. The lanai arrangement is great - large ranch-slider doors with sliding screens enable great air circulation. The excellent pool and fitness centre are just a minute's walk. You do need a car to get around but there are fine beaches a few minutes away and the village of Kawaihae is close by, where you can for example buy very fresh fish. We enjoyed our stay immensely. In short, a great place to stay.” ~Mike M. (October 2017)
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Little Piece of Paradise!
Wonderful property. Fabulous beaches, very good proximity to both clubs. Home was perfect for 3 couples. Clean, bright and comfortable. ~Vicky V., Coto De Caza, CA (May 2017)
★ ★ ★ ★ Very Enjoyable!
We loved this condo! The location, above Mauna Kea, was perfect for the destination wedding we were attending. The view was fabulous - lots of ocean and palm tress! The condo had a well stocked kitchen and comfortably slept 2 couples. Very peacful and quiet! Just what we wanted! The Carrolls, Salinas, CA (June 2016)
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent
This is an excellent rental! It has a stunning view of the ocean and golf course. The sunsets are incredible! The amenity center has a wonderful workout area and the infinity pool so refreshing. The spa very hot for soaking tired golfing bodies! The kitchen fully stocked if you want to do your own cooking! ~ Relaxing on The Big Island! (April 2016)
We stayed at the Wai'ula'ula H201 condo during the week of March 9 through March 16, 2015. The unit is accessed by turning down the Hapuna Beach Prince access road, going through a guard shack, turning immediately left and upon arriving at Wai'ula'ula punching in a code which opens an electronic gate to enter the Wai'ula'ula group of condos and homes. So, a gate within a gate, very secure. The condo has 3 bedrooms (the two with ensuite bathrooms are quite large), the third bedroom is a bit smaller but still large enough to be comfortable. Each bedroom has its own television in an armoire and lots of closet space. The third bedroom faces the driveway and the other two face the front of the condo with great ocean and golf course views. All bedrooms have comfortable King sized beds. There is a fourth television in the living room within an armoire that also has a stereo and DVD player. The entrance from the driveway (it’s a second floor condo) opens into the kitchen/living room and the entrance and kitchen is tile and the rest of the condo, except for the bathrooms, is carpeted. The lanai is tiled as well. The kitchen has stainless appliances and granite countertops. The cabinets and drawers are dark wood and are the slow closing type. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, cutting boards, cutlery, scissors, 4 slice toaster, cookbooks, microwave and a double drawer type dishwasher. It has a Japanese style décor. Ceilings look to be about 10 ft. and the doors look to be about 9 ft. All the woodwork is dark, the doors are dark and very heavy, and it all has an expensive, classic feel. There is lots of inset lighting, all with sliding rheostats and lots of table lamps and a washer & dryer (detergent & softener were provided). The lanai overlooks what I believe is the Hapuna Golf Course, with a 180+ degree view of the ocean. We sat there in the morning drinking Kona coffee and watched whales, cargo ships and what I assume were pleasure boats move about on the ocean and greens keepers attending to the golf course. In the evening the view is the lights of Kawaihae, a small port village about 3 miles north of Hapuna Beach. The condo rental includes access to the activity center for the Wai'ula'ula complex. It consists of an exercise room, a kitchen, an outside grill area, an inside activity area, an outside hot tub (which is actually hot) and an infinity pool. The area is nice, clean and well cared for. We visited there twice during our week long stay and it wasn’t busy either time. One time there were two others at the pool and the second time no one was there but us. Take towels with you as none are provided there. We did buy the Hapuna Beach Prince and Mauna Kea package for access to the both hotel’s amenities. We really enjoyed our stay at Wai'ula'ula H201. Bottom line, the condo was awesome, we would stay there again in a heartbeat. ~March 2015, Audrey C., Anchorage, AK
The home and the amenities were very fine. It was fully equipped to meet all our needs. The view was lovely. ~March 2015, Lisa G., Sacramento, CA
Everything was perfect! Condo was beautiful and had everything. Very clean when we arrived. Looked just like the pictures!!! Having privileges at the hotels was so nice. Rental process was easy as were directions on getting keys etc. We look forward to returning and have already recommended you to friends. Thank you. ~July 2014, William & Evelyn R, Brea, CA
Everyone at South Kohala Management is very friendly. The home was decorated beautifully and was very clean. We had a fantastic view from the whole condo. ~May 2014, Clay & Linda J, Ontario, CA
Amazing ~ Beautiful ~ Relaxing....we would definitely stay here again! We loved staying at Wai'ula'ula! South Kohala Management is very professional and easy to work with. Our unit (H201) was soooooo nice (top of the line appliances and bedding) and had everything we needed to make our vacation very special and luxurious. The view of the ocean was tremendous ~ we were able to watch whales every day. The landscaping around the complex is beautiful..it was fun to walk everyday and enjoy it. The use of the beaches and pools at Hapuna and Mauna Kea were the icing on the cake and worth the small extra fee! ~February 2014, Dianna S, Sturgeon Lake, MN
