★★★★★ Mauna Lani gem
We absolutely loved our stay in this unit at the Mauna Lani Terrace. The property grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained and the location cannot be beat. We loved being able to walk out to the beach or the pool and also loved the option of walking over to the hotel for coffee or dinner. The unit was spacious and well appointed. The kitchen was stocked with appropriate dishes, pots, pans, appliances, etc and the welcome bag with snacks was an added bonus. We also loved that they provided ample bath and beach towels and had an in-unit washer/dryer. It was the perfect location to spend a low-key beach week with our family! ~Lauren B. (October 2024)
★★★★★ We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. The location was perfect - a view of the fish ponds and ocean and a short stroll to Mauna Lani beach club. Note that the furniture is a little dated but the kitchen and baths were high end and the beds were very comfortable. Great artwork. We found everything we needed in the kitchen (a burner was broken in the stove but this has been reported to management) and cooked up some great home meals here. We loved how we could just open up all the sliding doors on the ocean side. The lanais are small but it is so private that you feel like the back yard is yours. The ocean was so close we didn’t have a chance to try out the pool. Note that there is construction going on next door but we were out and about so didn’t bother us. Unlike other condos we have stayed at with this management company the beach toys here were very meager but there was a boogie board and a mish mash of snorkeling and sand toys. We truly enjoyed our stay at Mauna Lani Terrace A102. Great ocean views from the lanai and breathtaking sunsets every night. The property is very well kept and the management is very responsive to your needs. The sensors on the doors can be tricky and we had 2 nights without air conditioning, however, management did fix the problem - even on a weekend!! There are plenty of beach toys in the condo for use at the beach. There are plenty of beach toys in the condo for use at the beach. The washer/dryer are not full size so washing clothes can be challenging. FYI - there is only 1 grill that can be used at any time. The other grills need to be reserved so keep that in mind if you plan on eating in. The Beach Club is an awesome place for children and adults a like. Gary at the surf shack is awesome! He taught our daughter how to paddleboard. I recommend the following restaurants: Tommy Bahama, Bamboo House and Patz Pies (south of Kona). We arrived a little early and were greeted with a smile and "no problem". Our condo was ready and beautifully appointed. The view was amazing, the short walk to the hotel next door was convenient, and the beach club (a beautiful 10 minute walk from our condo) was more than I had expected! Convenient and centrally located on the resort. Ground level unit a plus-we stepped out through the back sliding doors to head to the beach daily without having to use the stairs. Think this is ideal if you have kids who can play outside while you remain indoors. Nicely remodeled kitchen. Well stocked unit especially the kitchen including cleaning supplies was very helpful. Appreciated well lit rooms (something many places lack). Very comfortable unit, easy to relax, having more than one tv was a plus. South Kohala's service was excellent and I particularly liked the administrative support that was offered, just the simple things like making copies and helping with mail, but it just made life easier. The location of Mauna Lani Terrace is superb and we look forward in staying there again. The pool complex is delightful, private, quiet and offers some shade.
